McMinniman’s Transfer Ltd. is a family-owned and operated business since 1929. Starting as a small local transportation company delivering ice blocks for block refrigerators, McMinniman’s has built on its knowledge and expertise over time and has grown to be full-service relocation and specialized logistics business.
We can provide residential, office, and commercial moving, storage, and overall relocation and project management services, delivering a high level of care every time. We are recognized as one of the most trusted moving companies in the communities we serve.

Timeline of our history:
Since 1929
1929
Frank McMinniman begins operations under his own name and provides local delivery and general trucking services. He even delivered ice blocks to customers with block refrigerators.
1945
Frank McMinniman incorporates his local business into McMinniman’s Transfer Ltd. This sets the stage for future growth.
1960
Donald McMinniman, son of Frank McMinniman, takes over for his father to run the business alongside his sisters, Hazel McMinniman and Millicent McMinniman.
1964
McMinniman’s Transfer Ltd. moves their location to Oromocto, NB to service the armed forces with the movement of troops to and from CFB Gagetown.
1965
McMinniman’s joins United Van Lines, the world’s largest moving network, as an agent for long-distance moving.
1973
Hazel & Millicent McMinniman take over the company from their brother, Donald McMinniman who unfortunately passes away.
1993
Alton Henry takes over as president along with his wife & Myrna Henry (McMinniman). They take over the business from Hazel McMinniman & Millicent McMinniman. The family business continues.
1993
McMinniman’s starts hauling shipments to the United States providing further relocation offerings to their customers.
2010
Tim Henry, son of Alton and Myrna Henry, takes over as president of McMinniman’s. He continues the family ownership of the company alongside his sisters Deborah Young and Diane Robichaud.
2024
McMinniman’s launches new location in Halifax, NS. This marks the first time our company has expanded its operations to better serve our customers in the Maritimes.
